An 18-year-old woman was booked into jail and held on $100,000 bail earlier this month after a rollover car accident in North Glendale. The woman is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after a rollover crash.

Police claim the Montrose woman tried to pass another car on Canada Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. May 14. Authorities say that she took a curve at roughly 70 miles per hour. Authorities claim that her car crossed over the bike lane before crashing along the roadside.

Law enforcement says the woman’s car struck a light pole and a tree before flipping over onto its roof. Authorities believe the car rolled over several times before coming to a rest. The driver was strapped in the car, and apparently was still belted in the driver’s seat when authorities arrived at the accident scene. Firefighters rescued the 18-year-old woman and transported her to Huntington Memorial Hospital.

Two passengers apparently were able to free themselves from the wreck and crawled out of the car onto the street after the crash. The two passengers were also taken to Huntington.

Police claim the woman accused of DUI admitted to having consumed alcohol and smoking pot earlier in the evening. Law enforcement also claims that the driver admitted that alcohol was inside the car at the time of the crash.

Generally, alleged drunk driving accidents raise the stakes in DUI cases. It is important for anyone accused of drunk driving–especially when allegations include a drunk driving accident with injuries–to seek counsel from a seasoned Los Angeles DUI defense lawyer as soon as possible after an incident.
