Yeardley Love Murder Case: Defense Suffers From Huguely Lies.
The prosecution rested today in this famed case of college love gone wrong in Virginia.
The updates of the court case can be found all over the media. What I want to focus on briefly is how easily George Huguely could have protected himself from what now appears to be an easy conviction.
Two rules which I will follow up on in the coming days:
1. Don't Talk To The Cops! EVER!
2. Don't make up stories/lies - even to friends - they might testify against you in the future
If George did commit this act intentionally and the regretted it, we'll never know. From facts now known, it is clear that she died in relation to their physical altercation. What we do not know for certain is whether he intended to kill her or whether he knew she was seriously injured and thereby needing medical attention when he left her that night. From a defense perspective, I am concerned that George's team-mates/friends testimony about his mood and lies spell guilt to the jury more than anything else presented by the prosecutors.
What do you think?
