Attorney Profile
Daniel brings a wide variety of experiences to his criminal defense practice. From early
study in communications and psychology, to volunteer work in prisons and the Los Angeles
community, to traveling extensively in third world countries and for a short time, working as a
prosecutor, Daniel brings a dynamic approach and vast breadth of experience to his practice.
Daniel earned his Bachelor’s Degree from The University of California and his Juris Doctor
from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Daniel is an experienced trial
attorney who has handled hundreds of cases throughout Southern California. Prior to
graduating from law school in our Nation’s Capital, Daniel worked as a Prosecutor for the
Maryland State’s Attorney’s Office in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he became
aware of many of the stumbling blocks that exist between prosecutors and defense attorneys
from the government side. Daniel used this opportunity to learn how best to approach
prosecutors and how to creatively resolve differences to the satisfaction of both sides.
Daniel who previously worked for a boutique law firm in South Pasadena, hung up his own
shingle in Sherman Oaks in 2006 and only recently expanded into his present offices just up
the Boulevard in Encino. He makes his home in the San Fernando Valley, but stays busy
working cases throughout the Southland. A recent week had Mr. Perlman in court in Van
Nuys, Ventura, Rancho Cucamonga, Compton, Murrieta, Newport Beach, Beverly Hills and
Metropolitan Los Angeles.
Recently, you may have seen or heard Daniel comment on various legal issues including
events surrounding the Brittany Spears custody battle on E! Television and Radio. Beginning
in September, Daniel began making appearances as E! Entertainment Radio’s “Celebrity
Legal Expert” and was also interviewed as an expert for an E! Special set to air in December.
While E! and other networks may call on Mr. Perlman from time to time, he prefers a low
profile and wishes to continue spending the majority of his time working hard for his many
Clients.
Daniel is also working on a book to aid people in coping with a friend or family member who
gets in trouble, and is available at no charge for group talks and/or question & answer
